Where to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day in Montpellier ?

Every 17 March is St Patrick's day, the bank holidays of Ireland's patron saint. Montpellier, the capital of the Hérault region, is going green to celebrate the Irish festival this evening. It's an opportunity to go to bars with friends and drink a few pints of beer like the traditional Guinness. To be consumed in moderation of course!

What is Saint Patrick's Day?
It is a traditional Irish festival that is celebrated all over the world, including France. As a French language school located in Montpellier, we are well placed to offer a unique intercultural experience to our international students.

By celebrating St Patrick's Day in Montpellier, our students have the opportunity to discover Irish culture in France and to meet people from all over the world and share their passion for the French language. This is an ideal opportunity for our students to practice their French while discovering a new culture.

We are proud to offer French courses that focus on intercultural communication and cultural exchange. We believe that the best way to learn a language is to use it in a real context and to meet people from different cultures. St. Patrick's Day is an excellent example of how we can offer an intercultural experience to our students in France. We are delighted to be able to participate in this global celebration while offering our students a unique opportunity to experience Irish culture and practice their French.

Hopulus Brewpub
This young pub has nestled itself under the city's beautiful vaults, just a stone's throw from the Rue de la Loge, in 2019. With its designer tables and jazzy music, it almost looks like a speakeasy. The bay windows allow visitors to see ten superb fermentation vats at the back of the address. Jean-Philippe makes good use of them as he brews twice a week with this equipment. In the end, it is possible to discover draught beers, blonde ale (top fermentation) and lager (bottom fermentation), as well as planks.

La Barbote
La Barbote microbrewery is a must for enjoying a good craft beer in Montpellier. Founded in 2015 by Édouard, Jean and Rémi, three beer lovers, this place is the first brewpub (pub where beer is brewed) in the city centre. One discovers a wide variety of quality beers, whether fruity or amber, such as the new "Prohibition" beer with notes of spicy biscuit and caramel finishing on a touch of orange peel and a hint of cherry. Great art! The room is spacious and welcoming, the lights are subdued, a perfect atmosphere to spend warm winter evenings, with events such as improv or blind test evenings.
