How to spend an unforgettable evening in Montpellier during your language stay?

Are you a foreign student taking French courses in Montpellier ? Here are some ideas suggested by our Accent Français' team to spend a pleasant evening and discover the city and its beaches.

1.   Dinner in a local restaurant to discover French gastronomy! 
Montpellier is famous for its local cuisine and you can enjoy delicious traditional dishes in one of the many restaurants in the city (bull meat, Mediterranean fish, sea food, fresh vegetables....
Language immersion students enjoy this opportunity to experience French culture and practice their French by reading the lovely restaurant menus.

2.   Walk around the historic centre to discover the cultural heritage. 
The historic centre of Montpellier is full of architectural and cultural treasures, such as the Place de la Comédie, the Cathedral of Saint-Pierre and the Tour de la Babote. Walking through the cobbled streets, immersion students can discover French traditions and learn about the city's history. In particular, the view of the sunset from the beautiful Place du Peyrou leaves a wonderful memory.

3.    Explore the nightlife to speak French with the many French and foreign students in the city. 
The city of Montpellier is known for its lively nightlife and its many bars and discos. Foreign immersion students can enjoy the festive atmosphere throughout the city centre and near the beaches. This allows them to familiarise themselves with the French language and culture in a more natural way ;-)

4.    Attend a show to discover art, theatre, dance, sport.  
Montpellier is a city rich in culture and artistic events. Immersion students can attend a contemporary dance performance or a classical music concert at the Opéra Comédie, attend the FISE extreme sports competitions in the spring.

5.    Take advantage of the beach to discover the Mediterranean coastline with its miles of sand, restaurants and beach bars
In summer, immersion students can reach the beaches of Carnon or Palavas-les-Flots by bus or tram. This allows them to practise French in a very relaxed atmosphere!
