« I’m happy to share that I’ve just completed three inspiring weeks in Montpellier under the “French+Sciences” programme, supported by the French Excellence Summer School Scholarship 🇫🇷✨ Organized by Campus France and Accent Francais French Language School, this unique programme brought together participants from 11 different nationalities to explore the intersection of language, science, and sustainability. I spent three wonderful weeks with Accent Français in June 2025, and it was truly a memorable experience! My teacher, Natacha, was incredibly passionate about teaching. Despite each session being three hours long, her classes felt rejuvenating and fun. I looked forward to every lesson—her energy and enthusiasm made learning French an absolute joy. During this immersive experience, I had the opportunity to: 🔬 Visit cutting-edge research labs and innovation centres 🌱 Engage with experts on sustainable agriculture, durable housing, and renewable energy 🧠 Take part in workshops with hands-on opportunities — including installing a solar panel! 🇫🇷 Improve my French in a dynamic and practical environment The topics covered resonated deeply with me, as many aligned with CM4282: Energy Resources, a course I previously took under Dr Maw-Lin Foo. It was refreshing to witness how theoretical concepts are applied in real-world contexts — especially through the lens of France’s sustainability initiatives. I’m incredibly grateful for the chance to deepen both my scientific and cultural understanding, and for the many meaningful connections made along the way 🌍 A heartfelt thank you to Campus France, Accent Francais French Language School, Stéphanie Checa, Enercoop and all the passionate speakers and peers who made this journey so special. »

« I am pleased to share that this summer, I had the opportunity to participate in a 3-week summer school with a focus on Sustainable Development, thanks to the French+Sciences scholarship, awarded by The French Institute in India, Embassy of France. The program was hosted by the Accent Francais French Language School in Montpellier, France. The staff at Accent Français is very kind and helpful. The teachers are the best in all respects, and they make you feel comfortable even if you are a beginner in French. The school building is located in an excellent neighborhood, and all facilities within the building are top-notch. I loved my 3 week experience and would recommend the school to anyone willing to learn or enhance their knowledge of the French language. The program featured a series of technical sessions and discussions on the themes of renewable energy ⚡, eco-housing 🏡, and sustainable agriculture 🌱. These were conducted by experts from Enercoop and CIRAD. The experience was further enhanced by insightful field visits and hands-on workshops, allowing me to learn about the real-world applications of some of the state-of-the-art technologies. The program also included French language classes at Accent Français, which helped me start learning the language. I was especially impressed by their teaching approach - it felt much more like playing interactive games than traditional classroom lessons. This engaging pedagogy made learning French both enjoyable and effective. The program also allowed me to engage in meaningful discussions with some of the brightest minds from around the world, representing 12 different nationalities 🌍. Sharing ideas and experiences with such a diverse group not only broadened my perspective but also fostered lasting connections and friendships. Additionally, I had the chance to explore the French research ecosystem. This experience would not have been possible without the generous scholarship support of The French Institute in India and Campus France. I am deeply grateful to my undergraduate institute, the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar, for providing me with a strong foundation and the skills necessary to take part in such a prestigious international program. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Stéphanie Checa for her outstanding organization of the program and for always being there to support us whenever we needed assistance. My sincere appreciation goes as well to the dedicated teams at Accent Francais French Language School, Enercoop, and CIRAD for making this program a rewarding experience for all of us. »

The number of French learners was manageable, creating a good learning environment. The teaching methods were effective and supported by modern materials.
