Every year Accent Français has the pleasure of welcoming school groups from all over the world to take part in a programme of a combination of French classes, excursions and activities to fully immerse the students in the French language and culture.
Among these school groups is St Helen's School from England who recently came to Montpellier and attended Accent Français. In this article, St Helen's School shares their wonderful experience of their stay in Montpellier.

"Each morning, students attended French lessons at a local language school, immersing themselves in real-world communication from the moment they arrived."

"Afternoons were dedicated to cultural exploration, including a guided tour of Montpellier’s historic centre, traditional Occitan dances, a château visit, an excursion to a seaside town, and even a lively bowling evening."

"One of the most valuable aspects of the trip was the opportunity for students to stay with host families. This experience encouraged them to use French authentically – speaking French at mealtimes, discussing their day and adapting to a new environment helped them develop independence and a more natural use of the language. Many students said they found themselves thinking in French by the end of the week."

"The weather was beautifully sunny throughout the week, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to every activity. Whether wandering through Montpellier’s medieval streets or relaxing by the coast, the students made the most of the warm spring days."
"Trips like this are more than just a change of scenery. They build confidence, independence, and cultural awareness. Students return not only with improved language skills but also with a deeper understanding of how languages connect people and open doors to new experiences. These immersive opportunities often spark long-term motivation, showing students that language learning is not just academic – it’s practical, social, and genuinely exciting."

Thank you to St Helen's School for choosing Acccent Français for your French immersion programme. It was an absolute pleasure to have your students with us and to share your experience with everyone on our blog!
