A SPACE OF CULTURE AND EXCHANGES

Accent Français is open all day long for students wishing to study or just relax:

  • A working room where you can study and prepare your presentations (free access to all teaching material, grammar and exercises books, etc..) or simply relax reading magazines and newspapers.
  • Computers with free access to Internet for your personal researches or just to check your emails.
  • Many events at school that will involve you in the Institute social life: welcome drinks and farewell parties, international cooking parties, poetry or literature contests, etc...
  • A mini tourist office is available at the entry desk and our staff will be pleased to help you organizing your own leisure activities and weekend excursions.
  • School provides a weekly program of exhibitions, music shows, festivals, and cultural events of the city.

ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS

Accent Français has its own activity department with 2 dedicated staff members.
We will provide you on arrival with the program of activities and excursions we offer every week and all year round.
The extra curricular activities and excursions we organize are held on afternoons, evenings and weekends.
Activities are accompanied and animated by our two experimented and dynamic staff members who are available all year round to provide guidance and tourist information.

In July and August we offer a pack of cultural activities with : 2 activities per week + 1 full day excursion in the week end + guided tour of Montpellier : 60 euro/week (minimum 2 weeks)
An excellent way to discover French culture and to visit our region with our very enthusiast activity coordinator.
You just pay for your own entrance fee or personal expenses.

EXCURSIONS

Nîmes, roman city , and Pont du Gard (UNESCO world heritage)

Guided tour through this charming and festive city which has proudly to offer one of Europe’s’ richest roman heritage. Afterwards you will visit the world heritage site of Pont du Gard, the largest existing roman building of its type.
Once a year we offer an excursion to the Feria de Nimes

Roquefort cheese Ceilings and Millau Bridge

Students will lift the secret of the production of one of France’s most famous cheese - the Roquefort, which ripens in the natural caves under the village, which gave him his world-famous name. You will also plunge in the natural splendor of the Cevennes Mountains and visit Norman Foster’s impressive Viaduct de Millau.

Sète, its fishing traditional harbor (city of Georges Brassens)

The cities’ slogan “one foot on the water, one foot on the land” captures it the best. Sète represents the maritime tradition like no other city in the area, famous for its fishing port and its oysters, its also the home of artists like George Brassens or Paul Valery. Students will have the opportunity to swim in the sea.

Arles and Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer (UNESCO world heritage)

Once you have been to Arles you will understand why this city attracted Artists like Van Gogh or Picasso. Its unique light and important architectural heritage make Arles to one of the most beautiful cities in Provence. With Saint-Maries-de-la Mer we will visit another jewel in the heart of Camargue, the well preserved natural Delta of the Rhone, home to Flamingos, the Camargue Bulls and white horses.

Avignon, Papal city (UNESCO world heritage)

For many people a visit of southern France would be incomplete without visiting Avignon. Located at the Rhone river and in between the Languedoc and the Provence, Avignon is a cultural centre with a profound historically importance. You will visit the famous Pont d’Avignon, the Papal city, former seat of the popes and the romantic city centre which is still completely encircled by its medieval city wall.

Aigues-Mortes and Espiguette beach

You will discover a perfectly preserved 13th century fortress building surrounded by the salt lakes of the petit Camargue. Afterwards we will visit the beach Espiguette with its wide dunes.

Marseille and Frioul Islands and the château d'If

You will discover the thrilling diversity of the largest City in southern France as well as its historical sights.
In cafes around the old harbour or on top of Notre Dame de la Garde you can breathe the character of Marseille, which is formed by a strong Provencal, maritime and also North African influence.
Further we will take a ride on a cruise boat to visit the Froiul Islands and the château d'If the setting for Dumas' "The count of Monte Cristo"

Narbonne and archbishops Palace

Narbonne is the head city of the department Aude, thus a cultural centre in the Languedoc located 1 hour south of Montpellier. The archbishops Palace is the most important historical site.

Carcassonne, an its medieval city (UNESCO world heritage)

Carcassonne is one of the best preserved fortified cities in Europe and claims therefore the title of an UNESCO world heritage site.

Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert (UNESCO world heritage)

Visit this picturesque small village in the mountains north of Montpellier and smell the spirit of one of France’s most beautiful villages just like thousands of pilgrims on the Way of St. James did for centuries and are still doing today.
